State Agencies are seeking to promote destination brands in order to increase visitor numbers. This is creating opportunities to develop visitor attractions with proven business cases.

In recognition of the benefits of a strong tourism sector, the Government is committed to strategic investment in regional and national tourism attractions. Such investment is targeting increased growth in domestic and international visitor numbers.

Attractions must now be designed to deliver world class visitor experiences with sustainable levels of growth. Funding of attractions is dependent on strong business case management and an ability to deliver employment within regional economies.

The design of the visitor hubs must enhance Ireland’s natural environment and be delivered within a sustainable model .
