Dublin Office New Directors
Following our recent announcement regarding senior promotions within the Business’s Waterford office, we are excited to announce the promotion of Alan O’Connor and Colin Harney to Director level and Michael Higgins to Technical Director level within our Dublin office. The expansion of our leadership team across both offices is consistent with the growth plans for Carron + Walsh. We congratulate Alan, Colin and Michael and wish them every success in their new roles.
Michael Higgins – Technical Director
Michael joined Carron + Walsh as an Associate Director in 2011 and in 2016 was promoted to the position of Regional Director. Having over 26 years’ experience in the industry Michael has significant experience in the procurement of industrial, commercial, historic, and public buildings. Michael qualified with a Degree in Construction Economics and Management in 1997 and qualified as a Chartered Quantity Surveyor in 2000. Michael is also qualified in the area of Conservation Surveying and has gained significant experience in planned and reactive maintenance and refurbishment of properties.
Colin Harney – Director of Quantity Surveying
Colin joined Carron + Walsh in 2011 as a Chartered Quantity Surveyor earning promotion to Associate Director whilst acquiring significant experience in the procurement of civil, commercial, industrial, residential, education and listed facilities in the construction sector in Ireland, The Caucuses and the Middle East. Colin has over fifteen years’ experience in the construction industry, having graduated with a Degree in Construction Economics and Management from Dublin Institute of Technology, Bolton Street in 2008. Colin has gained experience with numerous forms of dispute resolution having been actively involved with Project Boards, Conciliation, Mediation and Litigation as an Expert Witness. Colin continues to further his education and experience in this field having recently commenced the Construction Law and Contract Administration (P.Grad.Dip.) course in Trinity College Dublin and we are delighted Colin will be focusing on the growth and development of our legal support department.
Alan O’Connor – Director of Quantity Surveying
Alan joined Carron + Walsh as a Senior Chartered Quantity Surveyor in 2013 and has been a key member of the cost management team ever since, becoming an Associate Director in 2017. With over twenty years post graduate experience in the industry Alan has been instrumental in the growth of Carron + Walsh helping to grow the practice across a number of sectors. Alan is experienced in all aspects of construction development, from inception to completion, for both private and public sector clients. We are delighted to recognise Alan’s hard work and look forward to continuing working alongside him in the years to come.
Waterford Office New Directors
The Partners of Carron + Walsh are delighted to announce the promotion of Elaine Brazil, Nigel Cusack and Tadhg Ryan to Director level within our Waterford office, reflecting the continued expansion of the Practice. The promotions reflect the valued input of the leadership team in facilitating the strategic growth plans for Carron + Walsh across a range of sectors, both in Ireland and internationally. We look forward to future announcements regarding the Business’s expansion.
Tadhg Ryan – Director of Quantity Surveying
Tadhg joined Carron + Walsh as an Associate Director in 2021. He has over 20 years’ experience in cost management and administration across both private and public sectors project. He has been involved in the delivery of a diverse range of projects including commercial, infrastructure, retail, residential, cultural, leisure and mixed used from inception through to operation. He has held senior positions in both professional practice and main contracting organisations during his career in Ireland, New Zealand and the UK. Tadhg is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor and Fellow of the SCSI and RICS and holds a degree in Quantity Surveying, a Masters in Construction Project Management and an LLM in Construction Law and Practice.
Nigel Cusack – Director of MEP Quantity Surveying
Nigel joined Carron + Walsh as a Senior Chartered Quantity Surveyor in 2011, and has earned promotions to Associate Director and Regional Director in recent years. Having qualified as a Chartered Quantity Surveyor in 2005, Nigel went on to complete a Level 9 Certificate in MEP Quantity Surveying. Having over twenty-two years’ experience in the construction industry, Nigel has acquired significant experience in all sectors of public and private procurement and construction; and has led the development of the specialist MEP Quantity Surveying division within Carron + Walsh. With this promotion Nigel will propel the expansion of the MEP Quantity Surveying division and we look forward to working alongside him towards this goal.
Elaine Brazil – Director of Project Management
Elaine joined Carron + Walsh as a Senior Consultant in 2016 and has climbed the ranks to Associate Director and Director. With fourteen years’ post graduate experience in the industry, Elaine has significant experience in project management, programming, and scheduling of complex construction projects in Ireland, Australia, Belgium, Holland, and the USA. She is also experienced in claims and dispute resolution. Elaine graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Construction Management and Engineering from SETU and earned PMP accreditation in 2019. Elaine has been instrumental in driving the expansion of our Project Management division.
